Jennifer’s academic background includes a BA in Environmental Geography and Community Resource Management, a Diploma in Journalism and formal training with the International Association of Public Participation (IAP2).
Her real-world experience is extensive but, highlighted by three years as Director of Operations on the Mai Ndombe REDD+ project in the Democratic Republic of Congo and one year as CCBS Verification Lead and Interim Project Manager on the Isangi REDD+ project.
Jennifer believes that rural communities and local governments must be empowered and incentivised to protect and manage their own ecosystems for forest conservation efforts to be sustainable. She believes the best way to achieve this is with long term strategies that raise community capacities and knowledge, bringing generational, cultural change.
